Polkadot's governance underwent a significant evolution with the transition to OpenGov in June 2023. The shift aimed to enhance community involvement through new mechanisms like replacing the Council and Technical Committee with the Fellowship and introducing a more dynamic proposal system. Thus far, OpenGov has accomplished its mission with referenda and votes each up over 1,000% through six months, treasury proposals up over 405%, and both direct and delegated voters increasing.     The Week in Crypto Policy: CFTC and Fed Oversight Hearings. At a House Ag hearing, CFTC Chair Behnam urged Congress to close the regulatory gap in the crypto commodity spot market and reaffirmed the CFTC's position that ETH is a commodity. In the Senate, Fed Chair Jerome Powell told Senate Banking Committee members that the Fed would never issue a CBDC directly to individuals, only through banks, and would only do so with clear Congressional authorization. Also, the Energy Information Administration agreed to stop its "emergency" data collection from commercial crypto miners, destroy the data it had already collected. It will now follow the traditional notice and comment period process. [Messari Governance] [ENS DAO] USDC Comets - Interest Rate Curve and Reward Recommendations (Mar. 7, 2024). This proposal from Gauntlet recommends adjusting USDC rewards and interest rate curves across Aave's platforms, targeting a 1% Supply APR and 0.5% Borrow APR for Ethereum v3 USDC comets, with slightly higher rates for other platforms. The proposal also suggests changing the USDC interest rate curves to feature a 90% kink, aiming for a 5.04% supply APR and 7% borrow APR. This adjustment is designed to respond to the high demand for USDC borrowing, streamline rewards based on market dynamics. [Messari Key Developments] [Ribbon Finance] AEVO Token. Following the approval of AGP 1.5, the official AEVO TGE has been postponed to "mid-March 2024." AEVO is expected to launch on Mar. 13, 2024.
