🥛 Top 5️⃣ Things We've Done In The Milk Road Public Wallet 💸

Staking, bridging, and restaking fun 🤪  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

GM, loyal Roader!

We wanted to take this time to thank you for your support of Milk Road and make sure you are as prepared as possible to take on the world of crypto on your own.

The #1 way to be prepared? By following along to our public wallet journey.

Reminder: The public wallet is where we do cool sh*t on the blockchain like staking tokens, borrowing & lending, and diving into real world assets.

But we don't keep all the fun for ourselves. We break down everything we do, why we did it, and how you can do it yourself!

And even though it's only been a few months, we've already covered a lot of ground.

The Top 5 Things We've Done In The Public Wallet So Far

  1. We staked our ETH with Lido Finance.

  • We swapped 40% of our portfolio and staked it all with Lido, the largest liquid staking provider by market share.

  • Lido estimates that we will be receiving a 3.8% annual return on our staked ETH.

  • Staking directly through MetaMask Portfolio allowed us to compare expected return and costs in real time.

  1. We bridged Ether to three different layer-2 blockchains.

  • We bridged .5 ETH over to three layer-2 blockchains, in order to explore new protocols and see what all the L2 hype is about.

  • Our blockchains of choice were Arbitrum, Optimism, and Base.

  • We also engaged with bridges such as Stargate, that may make us eligible for an airdrop in the future.

  1. We used our staked ETH to trade yield on Pendle Finance.

  • Liquid staking allows you to utilize staked ETH on other protocols, so we took some of our Staked ETH to Pendle.

  • Pendle allowed us to swap the yield of our staked holdings with the expected yield of another product.

  • We also took out a fixed rate loan on Pendle, using our staked ETH as collateral.

  1. We provided liquidity to three different protocols.

  • Providing liquidity allows us to earn a share of the fees from different activities in DeFi, such as swapping.

  • We provided liquidity to two decentralized exchanges (DEXes) as well as Stargate Finance's bridge.

  • We utilized our bridged funds on other networks, bringing us significant savings on gas fees .

  1. We took a portion of our staked ETH and restaked it on EigenLayer.

  • Restaking allows users to secure other networks with already staked ETH and earn additional yield.

  • We monitored the first mover in restaking, EigenLayer, and deposited to their vaults as soon as capacity was lifted.

  • We are now earning "restake points" and hoping to receive a future airdrop.

Our Public Wallet Utility Belt

The Milk Man has been relying on three tools to guide and protect our public wallet re-launch:

MetaMask Wallet: MetaMask is our wallet of choice for the Milk Road public wallet for several reasons. First off, it is the most popular crypto wallet by usage. And over at Milk Road, we're all about using battle-tested offerings.

Additionally, MetaMask supports a wide range of blockchains, and the wallet can connect to almost any decentralized application. This along with the ease of use of their user interface made utilizing MetaMask an easy decision.

MetaMask Portfolio: MetaMask Portfolio is an offering that is unique to MetaMask's wallet, but comes along with its own set of advantages and a suite of convenient tools.

These tools allow us to engage with DeFi activities such as swapping, bridging, and staking in a one-stop shop.

Most of these offerings are also aggregators, meaning that they compare different providers and ensure we are matched with the best fit. Lastly, it provides a clean dashboard and advanced analytics to help us track and manage our portfolio.

Trezor: Our Trezor wallet integrates seamlessly with our MetaMask wallet and provides our digital assets with another level of security. We broke down how to set up a Trezor and pair it with Metamask in our first guide!

Next Steps

There is a lot more planned on our journey and we will be releasing new guides regularly for readers. Each write up will break down what we did, as well as a step by step guide so readers can also get their hands dirty.

We'll be shouting out these guides in our daily newsletter when they come out, so all readers can stay on top of our progress. Lastly, anyone can track how our portfolio is doing in real time through the transparency of the blockchain!

Let us know what you've enjoyed about the public wallet so far, as well as other things you want to see us try out. Until then, best wishes from the Milk Man.

Respond to this email and let us know what you want to see next on our public wallet journey!

Stay milky.
