Pardon my language, but WTF just happened? Trump announces a U.S. strategic crypto reserve. The markets start pumping again, and we're all thinking the bull market's back on! And then BOOM! Trump announces new tariffs, and all the gains are re-traced. Look, no one knows what's going to happen in the future. Even though we've been in a few cycles, we're entering uncharted territory. My working thesis is that the bull market isn't over yet: - Trump just came into office, and this is the beginning of his 4-year term. The tariffs are him negotiating and gaining leverage over other countries. He's dealing with the pain early on so he can make the rest of his term easier.
- Crypto IS going to be a huge part of his regime. Gensler's gone, Ross is Freed, there's a strategic crypto reserve, and SEC has dropped a lot of their lawsuits. The White house is hosting their 1st Crypto summit.
- There will be a global easing cycle that includes the Fed cutting interest rates. There's so much focus on Trump but he's just a small part of a bull market.
There's a record-high $7 trillion in cash sitting on the sidelines in money market funds. Cutting interest rates creates a favorable environment for risk on assets such as Crypto. Polymarket betters think there will be multiple rate cuts this year. If you've studied past cycles, you should know that now's the time to prepare. The real money's made when it's quiet and people are scared. Here's something I want you to reflect on. Crypto is player vs player. If someone makes money, that means someone else loses money. That's why so many poker players end up doing well in Crypto. That already have that killer mindset engrained. Unfortunately, we're not all gonna make it. You have to treat this like a competition. I've read a ton of books around competition and mastery. The greats always have some "unique advantages" that aren't obvious. Here are a few stories I've collected over the years: Example #1: The Dancing Boxer Vasyl Lomachenko is a legendary boxer who's known for his footwork. Opponents can barely touch him, and he can get the craziest angles for his punches. I watched his highlight reels and he moves like he came straight out of the Matrix movies. "All the power, all the coordination, all my victories – everything comes out of my footwork," - Lomachenko So, how did he develop this ability? Was it from endless boxing drills? Nope. His dad's a boxing coach. He noticed his son had a lot of issues with his footwork and coordination as a kid. He pulled him out of boxing for two years and put him in Ukrainian dance classes. This specific training leveled up his footwork. His boxing ability completely changed once he came back. Example #2: The Monk Chess Player Wesley So was an up and coming Chess player who couldn't "breakthrough" to the highest levels. Then he rose to #9 in the world rankings within two years. His sudden rise caught everyone off guard. What happened in those two years? "When I decided to try for a professional career…I thought about what I needed — more time to study and less stress. Both came immediately when I turned away from the internet." "There is only one cell phone in this family, and it belongs to my sister Abbey who is very capable of dealing with any unpleasantness that tries to enter through it. I have had no social media…for almost two years and I am alive, healthy and happy." Wesley realized that Chess required superhuman levels of concentration and focus. And in the modern age, cellphones has turned everyone's brain into mush. So, he got rid of the internet and his phone. It makes sense if you think about it, but how many people can actually do it? The meta lesson from these stories is success isn't simply "working harder." Sometimes working harder just isn't possible if you're a normal person with a job and kids. You're already working your ass off, and you're tired. You're already at max capacity. You have to think about unique strategies that can give you an advantage. Like I mentioned earlier, I don't believe for a second that the bull market's over. Conditions are choppy now, but this is the time to lock in and prepare. I have a small challenge for you. If you watch the same YouTube videos and read the same Twitter threads as everyone else else, you won't have an edge. Especially against the people are able to do this 14+ hours a day. Take a few minutes to brainstorm. What are some competitive advantages you can gain in the next few months? Could it be: • Mastering onchain analysis, and being able to find "smart wallets" to copy? • Being able to build an elite group of people that you can hunt gems with? • Leveling up your Crypto note-taking so you actually remember everything you're learning. It could be anything. Reply to this email and let me know. Talk soon, Edgy p.s. Tomorrow, I'll share some interesting examples I've seen from other traders and within Crypto. p.p.s.
