Hi ,
Hope you had a great Christmas.
This isn't a normal TDE Newsletter. There'll be no charts or deep analysis here.
With the holidays here and everyone spending time with family, I wanted to write something more personal. Something reflective.
First, thank you.
Thank you for reading this every week. Time is the most valuable thing we have. And the fact that you choose to spend some of it with us means more than I can put into words.
I don't take that lightly. Ever.
Also, a special shoutout to our TDE Pro members.
You are the reason that TDE exists. You make it possible for us to do deep research and share alpha on TDE Pro.
We'll keep delivering. And yes, we have exciting plans for TDE Pro in 2026.
As 2025 comes to a close, it's a good time to reflect.
This cycle has been… unconventional.
Instead of the usual retail-driven madness, it kicked off with institutions piling into BTC through ETFs. There was no clean "alt-season" where everything pumped. You had to adapt yourself to the market constantly.
We had covered major narratives like AI Agents, Perp DEXes, and Neobanks as they emerged. We did avoid some, such as memecoin mania. (No regrets there. Memecoins were never aligned with my philosophy.)
I hope you had a good year overall.
Compared to past cycles, this one was tougher. You could be dealing with losses from 10/10. Or maybe something personal that had nothing to do with crypto.
I read a piece by Thiccy about dealing with loss. It's written for traders, but the core message applies to just about everything in life.
The article is about dealing with losses in trade. But the lessons can be applied more generally. It talks about how to respond when things fall apart.
People often react to failure in the same two ways: either overcompensating in an attempt to regain what they have lost, or disengaging entirely to avoid further pain. Neither one deals with what actually went wrong, whatever it may have been.
Real growth comes from accepting a loss without moralizing it, grieving it fully. And then you can turn that pain into something you can learn from. If you allow yourself to process your loss in its entirety, setbacks can feel like tuition rather than injustice and become formative instead of destructive.
Loss doesn't build character on its own; what you do with it does.
Markets mimic life in this way. Any lack of discipline eventually gets exposed. Only those willing to face their mistakes head-on can keep the boulder from endlessly rolling back down the hill.
Take some time this holiday season to reflect on what you are grateful for and what lessons you can take from this past year of your life.
And remember, your health and your family matter more than a few numbers on a screen. Don't let the markets get you down!
While our portfolios are in the "protect and survive" mode, we don't think the crypto markets are done.
There will be opportunities in 2026.
Right now, we're finalizing a mini-report on our outlook for 2026. We'll cover big structural shifts and specific narratives we think could break out next year.
Happy holidays.
Much love,
Edgy & The TDE Team
